Today’s question for Anita addresses the issue of caring for children with cancer. How best do parents and relatives support the children and console themselves?  Anita touches on the importance of not feeling guilty or blaming anyone and not having the children feel it is their fault.  The other key point that she makes is that it is essential for all caregivers to take care of themselves.  Although it is tempting, it is not productive to give all your time and energy to helping a child or loved one, leaving nothing left for yourself.  Anita’s message of loving yourself and bringing joy into your life applies equally to people healing from cancer and those dedicated parents and family members caring for a loved ones of any age.
